Right click the file, select Properties, click on the Security tab at the top, click Advanced, at the top where it says Owner, click Change, click Advanced in the new window, click Find Now at the right, find where it has your email and name in the list and click that, click ok, apply, ok to close it all out. You now have ownership, but need to set permissions. To set permissions you have to have closed all that out. It can't be done at the same time. Again right click, Properties, Security Tab, Advanced, where it says your name and email in the small list click that, edit, and select full control. There's a file in the System 32 tab called wuaueng.dll that controls Windows Update. Hit ctrl-alt-del and open the task manager, click the Services tab on the right, find Windows update in the list, right click and choose Go to details, the svchost file controlling it will be highlighted, be careful to not click on something else, End Task. Now rename wuaueng.dll
